Jacobs. 2024. Field Assessment of High-Priority Managed Aquifer Recharge Sites in the Upper Yakima: Streamflow Monitoring Report. Prepared for the Kittitas Reclamation District. January 31.

Abstract:

This report examines flow trends discovered during the second phase of Kittitas Reclamation District’s managed aquifer recharge assessments and describes flow trends at 14 sites in the Upper Yakima River Basin. Data loggers are used to measure daily fluctuations of streamflow which provide estimates of high-flow trends. Hypothetical soil infiltration rates are also considered in the final flow rate calculations. The results indicate that five of the 14 sites maintain adequate conditions for aquifer recharge. The report recommends continued monitoring to refine existing data and to collect data in streams where data is available but inadequate.
